Lead Underground Geologist

CSG Talent are partnering with a one of our major clients. We are seeking a Lead Underground Geologist for a 2/2 roster. You'll play a pivotal role in providing strategic direction and management of all geological activity within the mine. The role shall direct, lead and control the activities of ore control, mining geology and geotechnical.

Responsibilities:

• Accountable for all mine geology and ore control activities in support of mine operations including but not limited to mapping, drilling, sampling, ore control, databases, models, and reconciliation
• Accountable for all reserve databases, models, and reserve reporting
• Lead and supervise all geology and geotechnical related work in the mine area, providing training, instruction and supervision as it relates to regulatory and geology requirements
• Work collaboratively with other functional areas including mine engineering, mining operations, processing and service departments, to achieve successful outcomes
• Provide accurate and timely information to key stakeholders
• Engage in and have a mindset of continuous improvement with all related activities to minimize wastage and maximize return on investment.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor of Geology degree
• Registered as a PGO (Desirable)
• G Class Driver's License (Required)
• 15+ years of experience in underground mine geology operations
• Strong experience in geological resource modelling
• Strong experience in ore control, preferably RC drilling
• Ability to design and implement ore control and resource modelling systems
• Exposure to project coordination and ability to make sound project decisions.
