Structural Engineer - TIC

We are seeking an experienced and licensed Structural Engineer with a Florida P.E. license for immediate hire. The successful candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency to independently manage projects from schematic design through the construction phase with minimal guidance. My client is a renowned organisation in the Testing, Inspection & Certification sector who has just brought on some new contracts that they are looking to complete in the near future.

They are open to anyone from Florida but would be more desirable to live in the Miami area.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare engineering calculations and oversee construction documents.
• Coordinate structural design with architects, other engineering disciplines, building officials, and contractors.
• Perform construction administration tasks, including reviewing shop drawings and interpreting construction documents.
• Conduct plan examinations for compliance with the Florida Building Code across all building permit categories.
• Evaluate proposed alternate methods and materials against code requirements.
• Explain the Florida Building Code and other applicable standards to customers, engineers, architects, and field inspectors.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Florida
• Minimum 5 years' experience working in a High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ)
• Proficiency in conducting plan examinations and evaluating compliance with the Florida Building Code.
